O.K. - So i built the stand for my 100 gallon today, cleaned and put in the crushed coral bed. I have an old magnum 350 and a hob double type filter running now. I ran out of prime after about 25 gallons. Smells like a swimming pool but looks great. I think 4 archers and my toadfish and eel (g.tile) will be the stock. Maybe a couple of scats. gonna do plexi around for the top half - gimme some ideas or comments to get my brain flowin again - lol

archer are awesome you should get some all they way i bet the tank is goin to be awsome

Here are some pics. Gotta get some motivation to start on the top tomorrow. Ideas and comment are welcome, decorations are just for fun- looked to empty- Havent decided what i'm going to do for deco/caves yet.

I'd forget about the scats. They are huge garbage fish & need a minimum of 50g ea.

OK- no scats, any ideas about tank-mates? or will the archers and my eel and toadfish fill up the 100 gal?

If you can either raise the lights or lower the water that could be good for a riparium setup. Ripariums are generally much easier to set up and take care of than paludariums. I have some mangroves and also some emersed Java fern that could do well in there.

Here is some black mangrove (Avicennia germinans) in a riparium planter.

would be interested in some mangroves, i guess i could try raising the lights up to top and see what it looks like. But the tank is for archers, so that comes first

I suppose then that it would best to lower the water at least a few more inches if you can do that. I bet the archers would love to have some foliage above the water for hunting.

The mangroves and other plants could look really cool, and help a lot with the biological filtration.

Had to drain and refill today because of a leak. Got it fixed. Refilled with some prime and started to add some salt. put some filter media in from my 55 to help with cycle. When can i add fish? so anxious- I'll check parameters tomorrow and then start thinking about fish.
