I have a Texas pair and their growth have slowed drastically since they started breeding in my 125. I wanna separate them so can gain some size and then introduce her back into the 125. I know a 100 gallon will be more than enough for her but I don't want her to live alone. So I was thinking if a 100 gallon is suitable for her, a female festae and perhaps a female trimac? Keep in mind that once she reaches about 6-8 inches she'll be back into the 125 so the female festae and trimac will have it all to them selves.

Do you plan on trying to pair them again afterwards? Sometimes if fish that have paired successfully are separated for a period of time the bond can be broken and you will have to reintroduce them. Hopefully they will pair back up but sometimes it doesn't work.
Just keep that in mind.
An alternative would be to separate them in the same tank. If they can see each other the bond should stay intact.

Hmm interesting.

The tank will be next to my 125 gallon though. So they'll be able to see each other through the glass. I guess that's close enough to a divider right?
