Here's my work to date on my lilly pond project. It's part of an overall re-hardscaping of my yard and thank God then end is getting close because I am sick of working on it.

The pond is about 100 gallons - 33.5" diameter x 25" deep. I have it rough plumbed with two 1" pvc lines out the bottom that I plan for supply and return to an external filter with UV. There is also a small PVC conduit at the bottom that extends outside the structure for wiring for a small low voltage light that will be inside the pond. This photo shows where the drain and supply lines extend to in the landscape bed:

I'm planning to finish up the stone surround and skim coat the interior this weekend and hopefully apply pond armor finish to the interior in the next week or so and fill this puppy up.

I'd like to have some fish in it for interest - how many goldfish would be recommended for a pond this size and what type of filter would you recommend?

Any other suggestions? Thanks for looking.

Looks great! Really interested in seeing a picture of your whole yard. I did a ton of research on pond pumps and filters when building mine and it all depends on what your priorities are. For efficiency I went with the Leguna 900 on my 300gallon as it uses half the power or less of comparable GPH models and it got tons of great reviews along with a high reccomendation from my local pond store (like my store but bought the pump from amazon for half their price). For durability the "Mag" series pumps from danner are super tough and crank out allot of GPH but use way more power and are going to be about %25 more expensive to buy. Alot of people go ahead and buy an all-in-one external filter but its going to cost way more than just buying a pond pump and building a simply diy setup. How many goldfish you put in there really all depends on what type you go with. The Shubunkins are really pretty but get up to 16" so would be pretty cramped in that pond but if you went with some fancy goldfish they stay relatively small depending on variety and you could potentially but 4 or 5 in there.

We got nailed by a bad hailstorm here a few weeks ago and it hammered my plants. Give me a few weeks for things to recover and hopefully start blooming and I'll take some pics.

Been shopping for filters - holy cow $$$$!

Think I'm gonna DIY something.

yeah I have gotten hailed on 3 times already this month, lame. DIY filtration setup is the way to go with ponds unless you have alot of money and don't want to have to make anything.

Finished stone work.

Turned out with bigger stone are and smaller water area than I thought.

Too late now.

Will finish out interior over weekend and coat with pond armor.

Still looking for 'just right' container for my external filter. It will be buried and below pond level so it will have to be water tight.

Any suggestions?
