My silver only likes to eat freeze dried and frozen krill.. Is there anything wrong with this diet? I'd say he eats about 8-12 per day. He is roughly 12" in length.

Performed a search but not much came up. Thanks.

Arowanas tend to be good eaters and getting them accustomed to a variety of foods can help ensure they receive appropriate nutrition, vitamins, and minerals.
Alternating frozesh foods with processed ones will ensure a healthy, balanced diet for your Arowana.

You need to continue to offer a variety of foods, krill is not going to provide everything that the fish needs.

He is now big enough that you can starve him until he accepts pellets. Once he is eating pellets on a regular basis, you can feed the krill again along with frozen market shrimp(tail spike removed), crickets, earthworms and frozenfish filets.

When they get to the point of only accepting one food, you then need to take that food away until they will eat other foods.

Instead of starving him you could also trick him. Since your krill is frozen you could also freeze some pellets onto the krill. As he lunges for the krill he will also have some pellets. This will get him used to the taste of yummy pellets!

GOOD IDEA

Great idea....Cut the shrimp in half and put some pellets then sandwich it together and freeze it. Like fish iron chef

how do all of you "suspend" frozen food for the fish to eat? i've been using 12" tweezers because i find that by just dropping it in it will sometimes sink before the aro can get to it.

i like the idea of putting pellets in the frozen food.

and lastly, do "Arowana sticks" float?
