Hi guys, how do u recognize 100% pure Black Diamonds ? What is the main sign?

When I see all BD around they look different, but which are pure?

For example...some people ( breeders ) selling pure BD , but some others people saying that those rays are not pure...this is really something...

Thanks Mike, that's good information..

What about this BD ray? Pure or not?

That's a hybrid.

BD hybrid as BD traits are visible, but what it's crossed with I'd really not like to hazard a guess, I'm not very experienced really in the finer details, but it's not pure BD that's for certsin

The only thing on that poster that I am not entirely sure about is that the males have white spots on their claspers. I know that for sure they COULD, but I don't think they NEED to to be BD. I have seen pure BD's without them. Maybe I'm nitpicking and the poster didn't mean it needs to hit all these traits to be pure BD, but I am certain I have seen pure BD without clasper spotting.

Ah missed that, thanks. Mine has em, I've definitely see higher quality though lol.

Ok, I took picture of his belly, see it is fully spotted..so he's got all the good sign of pure BD but as u sayin' it is hybrid..I am not here to fight with u over it, I just wanna know if people say pure what is it actually means.. some BD have only big spots , some have big with small spots, some rings spots..

No body's fighting mate, what's there to fight over
IMO for what it's worth, those large circular broken messy rings in the centre of the rays back indicate it's not pure BD, the rings/spots should be solid, or eclipsing, full circles.

At the end of the day if you like it, buy it.

Can anyone with more knowledge chip in please?

I have to agree with Mike here.

There is other blood in this ray maybe Pearl at some stage. The ray looks over 10" disc by which time the spots/pattern should be be much whiter and the base colour black. It is true not all BD will sport perfectly round spotting with again perfect eclipsing, some turn into doughnuts and other various wacky patterns hence the grading system that is in place, I might add some very different patterns can be more desirable to many than perfectly round spots, its personal preference at the end of the day. The pattern in the middle of this ray is so typical of a hybrid (yellow not white) if you search through various threads on here. It could well be 75% BD and 25% Pearl hence the larger percentage of BD traits that are causing the confusion.

Hope this gives a little more clarity to this debate.
