is 1/2 glass ok for 1000 gal plywood build ? it with have (2) viewing windows that are 40x40 so the glass will be cut 46x46 thanks

40x40 is on the big side for 1/2 glass if I where I would sleep better at night with 5/8 or even better 3/4 glass.
