Ok im sure this has been done a thousand times. But I want to use one of these pools to make a cichlid pond in my garage.

Has anyone here done this????

I am sure the pump that comes with it would make a dandy mechanical filter and I found the replacement cartridges on ebay for cheap if you buy them in bulk. They look just like a magnum 350 water polishing cartridge actually.

Im wondering if the pump would be powerful enough to push the water uphill to a rubbermaid tub full of scrubbies and perhaps put some clip on lights on the edges of the tub to create a bio filter.

Is 530 gph as the pump is rated enough flow for that much water????

And how do i cost effectively heat the water?????

look in the indoor pond section and they do it alot and also discuss the downside of the intex pumps and how to mod everything to make it work.

Cool TY

my red jewel cichlid recently swallowed a banzai tree leaf.. it has become lodged in his throat, and has not spit it out as of yet.. it's been in his mouth for about 2 weeks now.. is there a way i could go about extracting the barb?
