I have a 14" red belly pacu who is on the verge of out growing his current tank. I read somewhere the smallest tank size they won't outgrow is a 8'x4'x4', a 1000g. I need help on how to approach this build, custom filtration, cost, lighting, stand, and just about everything. If my funding is not sufficient, I will turn to a pre-built 180g combo for 800$ plus the add-ons. OR simply a smaller blueprint. I got the idea of a fairly large sump, with bioballs and pothos house plants, a fx5, and maybe some other canister filter(s). I will be able to make a fair some of money working my tail off this summer. I am completely serious about this, and need professional advice. All though any help will work. :). I was thinking of using Home Depot for the acrylic or glass 8'x4' panel. I need help on glass thickness and just what brands and products work best for the money. Where should I start? I am hoping that you guys will help ease the challenge of this MAJOR project.
Thank you to all contributors,
Chad.

need to find a glass company both local and nationwide and compare, remember, its not going to be cheap, i bet that one piece of glass cost well over a grand and not many places will be able to get that. also remember that expensivepiece of glass will weigh a ton (well maybe a half ton) not to discourage you, but a pond will be much cheaper, and i found a 500g acrylic for the same price i could buy one piece of glass for
