1000g Pond Filter - Take 2

Right, I have just ordered one of these pumps:

Which will turnover 2400 gallons per hour.

I have also ordered 15kg of al***rog for my bio media

What I need advice on is the following questions:

1. What size UV filter will I need? Will 50W work?
2. What size piping should I use?

Would I be better off just buying one of these 'box filters' with 50W bulb:

I can pick one up secondhand locally for £50 which is cheaper than building a box myself and seperate UV.

Also if I did buy it, any preference in whether I should use 19, 25 or 32mm piping from pump to filter? Head is approx. 1.3m

Thanks, that's what I intended to do but the box I linked to had a UV light also and seemed good value. That has now sold now though!!

So I still need to sort a UV light out...

What size plumbing is best from pump to filter? The pump can take 3 different size pipes

Home made filter? Say input to filter 1 inch then 3 to 4 inch out so water does not get a chance to over fill the filter.Had a uv on mine took it off and heavy planted a bog area that really helped keep it clean. All native plants, cattails,reed grass,and a few more from around the river and cattle ponds. So pick some out and see if it helps.
