Which is better? or is there a better one that is in the same range money wise?-----thanks

I would go with mags. Despite some of the problems people have (noise, heat, broken impeller) you rarely hear of them burning out. The impeller is really the only part that can break and those are cheap replacements. They are extremely tough and durable pumps.

Thanks alot ^^^---anyone else before i make the plunge. The main reason that draws me to the quiet one pump is the low wattage draw. Compared to the mag's. And the price is a little cheaper as well. I have found a quiet one 5000 which is 1330gph at 0 head for less than 75 bucks shipped. And that is almost to good to pass up. But if the mags will last alot longer than I would go that route.

I got four mag pumps and I love them the only problem I have is my mag 36 is loud but I'll be setting it on a "bed" of scrubbies to lessen the noise. And since they are so popular the parts are cheep and easy to find.
