My custom 100g tank is currently being made by Miracles Aquariums, so I started piecing together everything needed to get the tank running. The tank will have 2 holes drilled on the bottom of the tank for input/output from the canister filter. My goal is to have minimal amounts of equipment showing. I'll be using Eheim tubing instead of the ribbed Fluval stuff and I got some nice wye fittings to split two connections for the heaters.

Hardware:

100g - 48" long x 24" wide x 20" high
DIY stand - under construction
FX5 canister filter
200w Hydor ETH inline heaters
T5HO FishNeedIt light suspended from ceiling

Stocklist:

6-8 Roseline barbs
6-8 Corydoras reticulatus
1 Thorichthys meeki

Centerpiece driftwood (manzanita)

Tank is here! Almost done with the stand...just need to finish the shelf for the filter and the 10g tank to sit on.

The stand was stained with Polyshades black satin and American chestnut. Gonna add doors later, but they will be the American chestnut color with black handles.

The bulkheads will be used with a closed loop system for the FX5. I still need to get a prefilter sponge from Jehmco so I don't end up with sand in the filter.

Some thoughts:

Puntius denisonii tend to jump, an open top tank might be best. The corys would do better in a group of 12+ since you got the room.

Why use eheim hosing? Fluval hosing is fine IMO.

Tank is gorgeous.

Thanks! I've heard they jump, but I really like the ones I already have so if they jump ship then they will find a new home. The Eheim hosing is easier to work with because of the split in the line for the 2 heaters. The outflow will be the 1" tubing, then a wye to 2x 5/8" lines, then back to 1" tubing for the bulkhead. I was unsure of how many cory cats could go in this tank, but 12 seems like a solid number. :grinno:

looks good this far

Thank you!

I meant might NOT be best, sorry. As far as corys, the more the merrier. You could easily do two dozen or more in that size tank!

Updates: Got all the sand and rocks in place. I also purchased 2 small Festivums.

Final Stocklist
- (1) Thorichthys aureum
- (1) Thorichthys meeki
- (9) Puntius denisonii
- (7) Puntius titteya
- (2) Mesonauta festivus
