100g tanks overflow dimensions

does anyone know what size piping i should use for a 100g? i plan to use an 800gph pump however do you guys think a 500gph would be sufficient?

It depends on the design and position of the pump output. 800gph wouldn't hurt. You would be looking at needing 1 1/4" PVC for the drain. Personally, I would just step it up to 1.5".

Good call, better to be safe on the overflow side and make sure it can handle more than the pump can flow.
