Stocking my tank I have 2 blue acara and 2 convicts and want ta know if that is full or if I could get away with one or 2 more fish. New ta keeping cichlids. Running 2 filters an internal and a external filter

How big are they right now? In the longrun this tank would be pretty overstocked. As adults convicts get 5-6 inches and and blue acaras 6-8. This tank is isn’t large enough for any fish that size. All those fish together will eventually need ideally a 75 gallon tank but that depends on genders if this will even work. So no, you could not get away with any more fish.

Not got the 2 convicts and one acara yet but on order they will b smaller than the one I have atm.

I’m not sure what research you did on either species but most will tell you that in this size tank a pair of convicts will kill or harass any other fish until they die to stress. They are great parents! But this tank won’t work for very long at all. 2 pairs in 105 liter tank is no bueno. Well Goodluck!

I'll cancel the convicts. I did research but didn't quite realise how big both got till actually checked. Thanks for the advice. Will 2 acara b OK?

Good on you, man. This may work for sometime but if either fish exceeds say 5 inches you probably should upgrade to a 40b to 55. In a larger tank you could also have more variety of non-cichlids like a school of tetras and maybe some bottom feeders but your pretty limited in your 105 liter imo.

I got the acara cause felt sorry for him I'm afraid ta say was a un researched descion. He had been there a while and apparently killed everything in the tank with him. Mind was a tiny tank he was in. Wanted to try cichlids but think my research should have been better and a smaller species better. A re think may need to b done here

Since the Acara has already been known to kill others, you should take that as a cue, that no other cichlid will be allowed in a tank with it.
All cichlids are territorial, and a tiny 105 L tank, is not enough area for any more cichlids.

OK thanks for the advice I was a bit worried it being lonely hence getting a female but if u think no I take your advice as I'm new to this.
