I love the shimmer effect I get with these :)

Nice Set up. What type of Vieja are the yellow and black striped ones? They aren't sysnpilum are they?

Those are "redhead cichlids / Synspilum" as labelled by an awful LFS. They certainly are not Synspilums though. You can see my Syn in the video, look for the one that is darker and has a solid purple/red head. I've tried to trace where these fish were imported from, without any luck. I was told they came from Spencer Jack, but he hadn't shipped that store anything CA in over a year before I bought these guys. I also asked a couple other fairly known breeders in Canada, but it isn't theirs either. I think they are Bifasciatus, but I will never be sure until I find the supplier. I've asked for IDs on these countless times here on MFK! The big one is my favorite fish I have ever owned, and I bought the smaller one (siblings) because of it, about 6 months later. Whatever they are, they grow INSANELY fast. Faster than Oscars for sure.

Nice set up. Is the background a 3 D? The Red Head one looks more like a Melanuras than Syns because of the darker color. Look like you have two Bifiasiatas and one is picking fight, so if you can eliminate him, you can reduce the aggression and give everyone enough space. The green terror looks strange. Is it a hybrid. What's the name of the 3 blotch Vieja.

The background is not 3D. I will not get rid of my larger Bifa, it's my favorite cichlid. There's always been an aggressor in the tank, and most of the time no damage gets done so long as the other fish back down from him. I agree the GT looks funny ( low quality) but I'm pretty sure it's not hybridized. He'll be the next fish to go.
