eventually i will be setting up my 135G to put the fish from 108G in it,was wondering if a 60"x18"x24" is a good size tank for some P's,i'd rather not have red bellies, the tank will be heavely planted and it may have UGJ's,I want an active tank, are there any fish i can have with them, like a school of small tetra or something, what kind of water do they like and what type of food can i feed them to keep them looking there best, and how much should i be expecting to pay for the P's
here are some I am interested in

PYGOCENTRUS CARIBA.
PYGOCENTRUS PIRAYA
Serrasalmus Rombeus
SERRASALMUS ELONGATUS.
Serrasalmus Eigenmanni

135 is a decent size tank for p's......the dimensions are good enough to handle a shaol for life......it really all depends on what type you get.......reds are usually the smallest of the pygo family (which is the ones you can more than one in a tank).......all of those serrasalmus species will have to be housed by them selves meaning on fish in that big ol tank. Not sure why you dont want reds but i'd say 4-5 caribe in that tank would be good since most caribe are on the more territorial size and need their space........piraya would be less because they get bigger faster maybe 3-4 piraya in that tank.........as far as keeping fish with them nothings a guarnteed to live with them since they can change their mind at any moment.....after all they are piranhas.........

p's grow best and look best being feed a variety of foods including but not limited to:
raw shrimp, any white fish fillet, blood worms, krill, beefheart make sure you stay away from feeders especially goldfish....usually they are diseased and they also contain a chemical in them called Thiamese which stunts the growth of piranhas....so stray away.....once in blue moon you can feed them one to watch the excitment but quarintine them for a couple weeks atleast

prices vary greatly depending on the species and where you live......

the tank i'l be using for the P's if i go that route will be the 108,the 135 will be so i can put the fish from the 108 in,the dim't there are the ones from the 108,i just don't find reds really active,if i went with RBP's how many would i be able to house,
