Okay no one get excited, I'm just after prices! My cod has outgrown his 180G and would like to go abit bigger.

Now I'm guessing it going to be over $5000, and if it is it is not going to happen. Makes the dam out the back look good. Even if I'll never see him again!

So any ideas on price? I'd need a stand as well, but hate canopies so I can skip that bit.

Not into arcylic. I need to be educated.

I'm also in australia so if any aussies know any tank builders in northern inland Australia that would be good.

I think acrylic is your best bet. If you buy NEW directly from manufacturer, they will usually give a lifetime (20+ years) guarantee on the tank.

I have both glass and acrylic and love my acrylic tank.
 
FYI, the glass on that aquarium is probably going to be at least 20mm thick (.8 inch).....

for your dimensions, just the glass will weigh 1,489 lbs, or roughly one Geo Metro.
 
What you save in GLASS prices you'll eat up with the labor to move it into your house and anywhere else you decide to move the tank to in the future...

One Geo Metro is alot of weight to put up on a stand and fill with 7,500 lbs of water...

with decor and filtration you're looking at 10,000lbs...not to mention the most of the weight is because you are going that 3rd foot of depth...back it down to 2' deep and it's way more manageable;

Oh and by the way, if you are going that much water why not, just do a pond?
 
Y not do a plywood build?
