Hey guys, i recently joined this site and i had a question. SO, I have a ten gallon aquarium that is not in use right now. I had heard that smaller tanks need more lighting wpg than large tanks and i have twenty watts of lighting on that tank. Will this be enough for me to maintain plants? I want more than just low light plants. THanks!!

Depending on the lighting, but at only 20W, I'm guessing your working with incandescent bulbs. Low lights may or may not work for your light, but the type is very important to know.

no, they are two flourescent 10w bulbs that i bought from pet smart. I could do higher wattage but i'm worried about heating up the tanks too much.

You will have to go for only bare minimum low lights. The light you have is not very good for aquatic plant growth.
