ive got a nice 10gallon lying around it was a purpose made marine one, filter and everything all build into the back with a white and blue lights on top. so i filled it up with water from my 55 and after a few days put some coreys in and theyve been fine for a week or so,

so my idea was originaly to breed a small cichlid like cockatoo's or soemthing

im after something really cool and fun though, i was thinking of maybe mixing in some shrimp, what other kinds of interesting ideas have you guys got in your small (mini monster) tanks?

thanks Eläköön

Sounds like you're basically on your way to doing what I would do. I'd do a pair of SA dwarf cichlids-probably apistos...probably cockatoos for that matter...-and maybe a half dozen small tetras. I'd also include lots of plants. It sounds like it already has CF lighting as it's probably meant for small corals and such. It could probably support some fairly high light plants

I'd be iffy with cichlids in a tank that small, except perhaps a pair of shellies like multies

dwarf puffers

thanks for sugestions guys,
i havent been on for a few days so just got a chance to look.
i love the idea of dwarf puffers, but they are a little too small!
is there not another kind of puffer i could use that dosnt get much bigger than 2-3"
if not then il deffo have shrimps in the mix

I think guppies are fairly underrated...

i have a breeding group of panchax in my 55. same sort of thing as guppies just funner more attractive and would beat the crap out of guppies if i ever added them:P

Dwarf puffers are too small? Not for a ten gallon!

i got 2 gouramies and some guppies in my 10 gallon at the moment. seem to work so far. i had acouple rosy barbs in there for a wile too but they died one afternoon wile i was cleaning the tank:confused:

i love the flowing tails and fins of my gouramies, guppies, and rosy barbs look(ed) when they swim around
