I have an 11.5 inch jaguar that out of no where, stopped eating, he no longer has a pot belly, im really worried, he's not eating anything he used to, not even live foods, he lost his beautiful lavender tinge and is now flushed out. no white stringy poop, p.h. is still the same water is warm and not fluctuating and he's in a low traffic area.

what can i do to get him to eat again?

any HELPFUL advice would be appreciated :cry::(

Water parameters? Tankmates? Anything new added to his tank recently?

What are the parameters exactly ? Whats your water change schedule ? What is the tank size ? The more information you can provide the better answers we can provide :)

Also tank mates ?

Ph-7.6
Temp- 78
DGH- 10
this always stays the same, water changes are 2x a week, i used to vary the diets of minnows 1x every 2 months (i raise myself) crickets, earthworms, flakes, pellets krill and crayfish

the other tanks mates are a 8 inch female and a 6 inch male, i removed the 6 inch male and left his female, he still doesn't want to eat, so i removed the female, but the thing about that is, its his female, they are a mated pair.

i have plenty of hiding places for him, which he spends most of his time doing so, he's in a spot with alot of natural sunlight and i dont usually run the florescents too long at night. they are average uv., nothing tacky like a blacklight to make it pimped out, i replicated it with drift wood, artifcial and live plants, he has plenty of roaming room, especially with a tank to himself (90 gallons)

Before removing the other male and his female, were those two eating normally? He could have some sort of internal parasites IF he was the only one of the three not eating.

And for parameters, we mean Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia. Just these basic three can do you wonders.

Try feeding with garlic to entice him. It sounds like hes sick and I would try feeding peas. But it also sounds like he may have a parasite. Other than this I dont know what the problem could be. Did you rasie or lower the temp or anything change recently?

peas? will he eat that? would i have to soak them in the garlic?

the temp fluctuates maybe 2 to 3 degrees above or below average depending on the temp of my house, do you think that would affect him?
