i have a 110 g pond on my porch that i was looking for a new filter. the old one just isnt working the same as before
anyone got suggestions?
i have pictures in my album if you would like to see it

Do you have an pond stores nearby? I would avoid using an aquarium filter since the pond is outside, you want gear rated for the stress of being outdoors.

yea i have a pond filter right now that i got from home depot, but its a big block that just sits in the pond that takes up a lot of space
i was hoping for an external filter of some kind that is rather cheap

Impossible sorry. Your in Hawaii, NOTHING cheap there.. Sorry couldn't help myself.

Look around for some DIY designs around the net and see if anything peaks your interest. From what I have seen of pond filters, thmore hidden etc.. it is the more expensive it tends to be. I would go the DIY route.

haha true that. definitely expensive here
and i think i could get away with using a aquarium filter because there is a roof above my pond and it doesnt get much direct sunlight at all
even when it rains, nothing gets wet so if there is a SEMI CHEAP canister filter that you would recommend, id appreciate it
thanks for the help
and all the DIY things seem pretty complicated :P lol

Well if you can get away with a stadard filter, you can pick up an FX5 on ebay for around $220 shipped. In this case the flate rate for shipping is in your favor. If you wanted to go really cheap you could filter it will air powered sponges or even under gravel filters if you really wanted to. Both of those options would be nearly invisible.

haha i will pass on the sponge filters :P
and everywhere i see the "fx5" are they really THAT great? haha they must be if theyre worth 220 bucks

I have 4 or 5 FX5's around the house and they are a very solid and realiable filter. I am an Eheim man myself, I just can't afford to be lol.. I would have suggested an Eheim had price not been an option. There re some FX5 knock off's you culd look into that would more than handle your pond. Look into the SunSun brand CFS something or other on Ebay. Even cheaper with built in UV that would come in handy being outside.
