hey guys im new here as you can see i have some questions about this tank i just got its a 110 gal lobster tank its 4 foot long 2.5 foot wide and 2.5 foot tall. it has its own stand built in and also has a additional 25 gallon bottom if you lift this panel up on inside of bottom of tank inside the 25 gal false bottom is this coil thing like you would see on a refridgerator idk what its all there for lol. i know the glass on tank is like 2.5 inches thick it used to be a lobster tank i think is what the guy said. i think the bottom is a under gravel filter system idk i have a pic of the tank attached to this message if you guys want to look at it i can get more pics as well if needed.

i just dont know were to go when it comes to a tank filter system and same goes for heating the tank. i have had quite i few 55 and 40 gal tanks but nothing this big any info on how i should go about this would be appreciated. i am stocking it with Red bellied piranhas if anyone is wondering what the stock is going to be.

the coil was to chill the tank for the lobsters. You could use the existing filtration but you'll need to add some more IMO. However, with 2.5" glass (seriously?) you'll have to do something custom.

yes i measured it its sandwiched glass like 3 sheets adding to be about 2.5 inches i said same thing lol the bottom 25 gallon part were that coil thing is at is made of SUPER thick fiberglass .

the tank is a marineland 24 sl i found a pdf just now on there site

weighs about 650 pounds stupidly hard to get in truck with 3 guys
lol

Holy crap! I like it most solid tank ever :) . Built in chiller. You could do a sweet reef :) Big lighting and all the goodies.

i never thought of actually using the bottom lol i gues i could think of somthing as it is a extra 25 gal on top on 110 gal . but anyone got ideas on how to filter this thing i saw some out of tank filter can things on ebay and than agian is it possible to make a good DIY filter system ? i got a couple of 10 gallon tanks ? than heating is another thing as well ??

yah lol i dont want it for lobsters though lol

anyone know how i can filter this bad boy ???

and heating is now solved so thats no longer a issue i just need a way to filter it , the filters that hang on the edge are out of the picture im not ussing those lol
