Just got back from vacation (Jamaica) and ready to spend the rest of my money on fish. I have several tanks but the next one to be set up is my South American tank. Have an idea but was looking for additional input. The tank is older and not the typical 110 dimensions. Its I believe 72x18x20, just like a 125 but few inches shorter with extra thick glass. Already set up tank with sand and plenty large driftwood. Anywayz, can you tell me which option you think is better:

1 Chocolate
3 Flagtail Porthole Catfish
2 Sajica (I kno central)
2-3 Geophagus (Redhump & 1-2 Altifrons)
2 Keyhole
3 Bolivian Rams
2-3 Uaru
10 Diamond Tetra

or

1 Chocolate
3 Flagtail Porthole Catfish
2-3 Geophagus (Redhump & Altifrons)
2 Keyhole
3 Bolivian Rams
Pair Red Shouldered Severum
10 Diamond Tetra

or

Pair Chocolate Cichlid
3 Flagtail Porthole Catfish
2-3 Geophagus (Redhump & Altifrons)
2 Keyhole
3 Bolivian Rams
1 Red Shouldered Severum
1 Uaru
10 Diamond Tetra

I like the third option, except I'm not sure the Bolivian rams will do well in that setup

I'd go with the second option with a few changes. No redhump geo and I'd go with a smaller species rather than altifrons, ie orangehead tapajos, pindare, ect.

Thanks for the replies. I currently have the Bolivians in another tank. They are extra large, pushin over 3 inches from head to tail so i figured with hiding spots they would be okay. I will keep an eye on them tho. Funny thing is I've had geos, uaru, and chocolate cichlids before and none of them were as peaceful as they say they are. All three would bite the stingray i had so thats why I got rid of them. The Chocolate was the greediest and most aggressive so thats why I hesitate to get a pair to go with other cichlids. Either way, i remember they all had great personality so I want to try them again, just need to make up my mind on the options.
