I am currently talking to someone about getting a 60"L 110 gallon fish tank and stand. The stuff is extremely cheap, but the owner said they scraped the corner of the tank when they moved. It looks as if it is a long chip on the corner of the tank. I am wondering if the scrap will compromise the integrity of the tank. I posted a picture to see what you all think about it. Worth the trouble or no?

To me at least doesnt seem worth paying for what they would likely dump for free...

Condition looks pretty worn out, and unless you can see it filled, you may have to teat down and re-seal the whole tank...

I know the picture isn't that good, but do you think that that scrap will mean that the glass needs to be replaced? I may try to get it for free. Right now they are asking $50 for it.

My other options are: 1) buy a 135 gallon tank and iron that looks like it is in good condition, but has been sitting for 2 years for $150. 2) buy a 125 gallon tank and metal stand that is missing one of it's center braces for $150. 3) buy a 130 gallon tank that has been drilled and cracked in the bottom, but they added another pane over top of it and resealed it.

the tank dose look like its in bad shape but if you get it for the right price (hopefuly free) then i bet you could clean it up and it would look pretty okay...

The only way to be sure is to fill it with water. Scraping on the side like that does not induce major cracking, only shallow chipping from the looks of it. Add water, decide.

Tell em 20$ or no go lol. that way they are getting something out of it....fill it up with water...if it bursts...big whoop.
