Hey guys,

I have had my 110 gallon tank up and running for a year now with the following fish and this is their current size:

Common Name Scientific Name Length in Inchs
Redheaded Cichlid Cichlasoma synspilum 4
Texas Cichlid Cichlasoma cyanoguttatum 3
Jack Dempsey Cichlasoma octofasciatum 3
Black Shark Labeo chrysophekadion 5
Pink Convict Cichlid Cichlasoma nigrofasciatum 2
(3) Yellow Labs Labidochromis caeruleus 2

Tank is 60*18*24, has 3 AC70's and a 300 watt heater keeping the water temperature steady at 76. Bottom of tank has 1 inch of gravel and it has 5 caves made off aquarium fake decorations scattered around.

I am currently doing biweekly 30% water changes.

Is this set up going to work in the long run....say for 5 more years?

I must also add a comment saying I can only have this 1 tank set up due to a wife :)

Your comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

Denis

I don't think the mix of African and SA/CA fish is the best way to go. Fish ARE adaptable but your talking about quite differant water conditions here. With a better filtration set up you could cut your water changes down to once every week or even every other week and make life a lot easier.

i currently have a fluval 405 on my 55 with a breeding colony of ca's i ran it with the ac 110 but didnt like the amount of current in the water i would go with a heavy duty canistor and maybe 2 of your 70's cichlids really dont like a lot of current
