Hello this is the first time posting in the native section, but after fishing today and catching an assortment of different native fish here in Ohio I really want to make my tank into a
Native tank. Right now I have a
110 with 2 JDs and a red devil cichlid. Which I'm getting rid of.

Today fishing I brought home a long eared sunfish and a small rock bass. My main questioning is, if I made my 110 native what all could I get away with in that size of a tank?

Keep all the fish the same size if possible or close. All my longears are pretty close to each other in size. You start getting warmouth, rock bass and green sunfish, your fish may end up as dinner because of their huge mouths. Green sunfish are mean, so I would only keep one or two, in your tank probably 1. Most panfish, even if there are major size differences, you will be ok.

Ok I really like the colorations of the long ears how many of those could I
Keep together? Also would I be able to keep darter fish Nd cray fish on the bottom? The darters remind me of the SW hawkfish the way the move across the bottom and I've always liked them. I figure if I have enough caves and rocks on the bottom they should be fine?

I wouldnt put them in there, my longears attack crawdads and other small fish, so unless you want them to be food, I wouldnt. You may get away with it if you have a lot of hiding places but eventually, it would become food. I have 20+ in a 220 which is enough. So I would say 10-12 for you.

Sunfish are pretty aggressive, and even though your tank has the space for a lot of fish, you will have some fish that will get beat on pretty hard. I found even 3 moderate sized sunnys in a 150 was about as many as I wanted in there. You can keep lots of other fish in there with them, such as minnows and darters etc - as long as they don't fit in their mouths! Try and find some golden shiners - they look great in a big tank!

If you want to keep live plants, I would avoid crayfish - they will chew them up. I've even had them chew up my driftwood. Larger crayfish will also take out fish - so look out!

One other suggestion - Not sure where you are in relation to their range - but orange-spotted sunfish are highly sought after for aquarium fish! They are smaller than most other lepomis, and beautiful!

I caught this last night in Yatesville lake in Louisa KY.

And I have caught the orange spotted sunfish here at a pond in southern Ohio. Catch them quite frequently actually.
