I bought my first big tank in a yardsale. its a 110

Anyhow the silicon inside looks good and all but i want to clean it all up.
It was a Marine tank so it has alot of dried marine algae on the glass.
The gentleman said he took it down two weeks ago.

Anyways i wont be putting fish in it anytime soon as i plan to totally redo the stand also.

So whats the safest way to clean the dried up mess off of the glass. There seems to be small white sugar sand dried into the mess.

What cleaner if any can i use?

Should i wet it down with water?

Scrape it with a razor?

Ive been told it will not enter the house in its current state, so i have some serious work before she lets me bring it in.

Assuming glass tank a razor blade should be fine just be careful around the silicone seams. A spray bottle filled with white vinigar should help to soften the coral algae, spray it and let sit for a few minutes before scraping. Rinse until vinigar smell is gone or use mild soap and rinse well.

I like plastic razor blades for this usually, I find they work well. Or credit card type plastic has been good for salt and algae leftovers.

Lucky me only have apple cider vinegar now me and the garage stink. Still some spots on the glass can I use CLR on it?

Still cant get the foggy stuff off. Ive tried some cleaners and a razor blade. Did this stuff grow into the glass?
