alrite finally got my grow out tank together...got a 110g tank filtered by marineland c360..going to add two or one emperor 280's on it for better results. do i need anything else?

gravel? sand? or stones? i already have driftwood and plants what else do you think i will need? oh yeah do you think im going to need an overflow? or sump? any info would help.

6pbs are going to be in this tank 2.5-3.5 ins in length. all comments are welcome.

sand would look nice but mite kill ur filter cause the might kick it up ad it will get kicked up buy the fish I would go with gravel or the 3m quartz sand

that is a whole lot of tank for six small pbass. Do you have anything smaller that you could use until they are like 6"? Pbass can get stressed in a tank that big when they are so small.

Hmmmm....you could always buy a cheap 55 gallon or something like that on craigslist..My first tank I ever bought was a complete 55g from walmart for $100. The only thing I still use is the tank and the hood and lids.....awesome tank. Thats what I have my 6 4'' mono's in.

okay.....do you think i still need more filteration??? i have the marineland canister and an emperor 280 do you guys think im going to need more filteration???

a sump? overflow? or is that over kill?

sounds like the filtration u have in there is fine but then again there's no such thing as "over filtration" the more the merrier :) if it were me I'd go with the sump filtration, easier to maintain and much better filtration..

If it was me I would stick with the 20g for about another month. When they are about 6-7" then introduce them to the larger tank.

Sorry I have to disagree. A 110 is perfect to grow them out. All you need is plenty of hiding places. A small tank will slow their growth which you don't want.
Once they settle in they will love the big tank. I put mine in a 180 at 5-6" and they loved it.

Any pics yet?
