hi everyone! I am looking into getting an 110 gallon f/water aquarium in a few weeks and want to make sure I can stock it in the best way possible. I posted a thread about this a few months ago but a lot has changed since then in terms of what fish I would like to get so I figured that creating another thread would be easier.

Okay, so right now I have the following fish and want to put them in the 110g: 1 Bgkf, 1 bala shark and 3 firemouths.

My original plan was to go for:

- 1 Black ghost knife fish
- 1 Bala Shark
- 3 Firemouth Cichlids
- 1 Black Convict
- 1 Pink Convict
- 2 Blue Convicts (honduran redpoint)
- 1 Tiger Oscar
- 1 Texas Cichlid
- 5 Pictus Catfish

But am worrying that it will be too overstocked if I put all them in. So, if you disagree with me and think that list looks fine, please let me know. But if you agree with me and think that it is overstocked, please feel free to post a list of what you would stock a tank this size with (presuming you had the bgkf, 3 firemouths and the bala and wanted to keep them all).

Thanks for reading everyone!!!

have to lose the oscar and texas in my opinion, maybe ad a green terror or electric blue jd if you want another cool cichlid?

Dont know about a green terror, they are pretty aggressive and I dont want them harassing the bala shark or bgkf. As for EBJD, I originally wanted one of those but ive been told that they are hard to keep.

some green terrors can be, also firemouths and convicts are pretty aggressive imo, ebjd's are no harder to keep than regular jds its getting a good one as some have poor genes and die young regardless...

hmm, not sure about ebjd and terror then...

As for the hrp, thats okay - I still want to get some regardless lol. Thanks for letting me know though!

After looking into the green terror a bit more, I still have to say that I prefer the oscar due to the fact that people speak of it so highly.

Providing I kept up to date on water changes and ensured filtration was adequate, do you think the list I provided on the first post will work??

no... imo your convicts will breed and torment the rest of the tank in doing so. HRP's idk how they are comparatively but having groups of cichlids = breeding = excessive aggression.

Well I think I am going to dump the hrps anyway.. So the list would be:

- 1 Black ghost knife fish
- 1 Bala Shark
- 3 Firemouth Cichlids
- 3 Convicts
- 1 Tiger Oscar
- 1 Texas Cichlid
- 5 Pictus Catfish

As for the breeding issues, I am prepared to take any of the cichlids back if they start to get too aggressive.

Make sure all the cons are the same sex. Breeding cons are a terror. I've a pair scare every thing in a 6 foot tank to the other half and refuse to go within two feet of the cons. Basically 5 fish where forced in 1.5 foot of tank
