I have a 4ft 110g what to do a monster tank what can I stok=ck it with. Was thinking a shovelnose and aro but want to do more rearsch.

IMO shuvelnose and aro are out because of the base footprint. 4' x 18" so too small for both in a very short amount of time. Neither really care about the height of the tank being 31" unless it's wide not tall, then your options are totally different.

Thoughts on bichers and plecos? Might make a cool puffer tank.

You can do a aro or a lima shovelnose. I've seen both live very healthy lives in a 125 gallon and have plenty of room. Most silver aros will reach 2 to 3 feet in a 125 but 2 to 2 1/2 is more likely and the one i saw was in the tank for about 5 years.

just shut up! bs

try a pair of oscars

Your tank is way too short to keep an Aro, you need a minimum tank size of 72inches in length.

that size tank is fine for monsters up to about 14" or so tops.

anything more and the length is too short.

so I would look at south americans, like oscars, jack dempseys etc. as suggested.

I am sort of in the same boat - my 150g is 72x18x29 tall - like yours only longer.

so its really long, really tall, but not wide enough for really huge fish. so I went with tinfoil barbs which max around 14" or so..

suggestion fail

I would make it a south american cichlid tank with a pleco or something. A shovelnose would get too big.
