On the contrary, it probably would not work in that sized tank since they are both so aggressive. It may work while they are small, but chances are when they start to get bigger, one will get beat up.

There is a possibility to get a pair, so go ahead and try it, but be prepared to be able to separate them.

I would put them together.Id add more fish. Ive have many flowerhorns with alot of other fish and ive had not one fish killed.
In my 125 there is 23 adult fish in the tank.i have severums ,red devils, midas, gold saum, cuban cichlid, flowerhorns, jack dempsey, parrots and other hybrids. Also too many convicts to count.

So my opinion I'd put more smaller cichlids in there so the fish can grow up together instead of waiting for the fish to get larger and trying to add another large adult fish to the tank.Good luck with your fish!!!
