Ok amazon river setup, 90 gallon! I have a bgk 12 inches and just added a 4 inch Payara!
What can i expect at night will the ghost chase him around in such a big tank with drift wood and plastic vines densely all over the tank!
I am still looking for a bigger Payara to put in there with the ghost and i have a divider in an emergency! Help Miles will this setup work thanks Howie

i dont see it working;) id be afraid for your bgk getting bites taken out of it

GL

i think its gonna be the other way round, paraya are very delicate, one of mine went missing, the paraya was 3" anbd the other fish were only like an inch bigger. but the paraya are so thin, especially tail first. id expect the bgk to bite paraya's tail off. i had a 10" bgk and it was very terrotorial.

yes i will see tonite , i would say if anything the ghost will chase the paraya, i have massive wood and plants, i am wondering if the ghost will ignore him at night, or find him actually search for him. Well if not i will try a bigger payara over 8 inches! How does that soiund , would that work out ghost and bigger Paraya?

The 90g is a pretty talk tank, make sure you have some foilage up towards the top..

The BGK will likely hang around the bottom, as most knives 'hover' in a verticle position in search of food in the substrate.. The payara will take refuge up towards the top of the tank hopefully, and there will be few encounters.

Just make sure your tank is well oxygenated :)

well i set the tank up with massive drift wood on the ghost end and put vines heavily all over the rest of the tank, the payara seems to hang below the bottom of vines and not go to the top. Thats where all the danois are at so i wish he would get up there and eat!
well last night it was cool the ghost just ingored him all night, swam by him a few times but did not chase him. The payara always gets a little scared anyway and i saw him swimming against the glass for awhile but he is cool today!
how can i set the tank up put vines on the gravel to force him up

Try just letting some of the vines float.. The payara feels comfortable underneath a 'cliff' type object it looks like, it would probably be better if he hung out up towards the top.

You're doing a good job though!

Did you do anything for added O2?
