I have the chance to rescue a few small silvers from a bad situation. They are both around 5 inches and would be going into my 150tall (48X30X24 wide).

I don't want to piss off the Black or have it kill the silvers, but I hate to see fish in a bad place. The tank has 2 FX5's with one running a 36W UV.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Should be allright....go rescue the silvers...blacks are not as agresive imo.. but watch it and get some hiding spots for the silvers on top of the water column ( ie filter piping, shower tubes,...) anything that will allow them to hide on top....

I don't know Miguel, sounds risky to me. your going to have to weigh out wich situation is worse for the two silvers. Not an easy question. On the other hand, if the black does start pounding them, you still have the opertunity to place them somewhere else, thus improving their situation.

a 48" tank should not be divided for 3 arowanas. its way to small of a tank even in short term. if u dont have anywhere to put them if it doesn't work out. i wouldn't do it. i think i wouldn't do it anyway. maybe save 1 if u can

Get a small grow out tank for the little guys.....then put them in when they are big enough to be with the black, or send them to me. ;)

I would also suggest buying a growout tank for them.

Im going to be using my 180 to growout a Black aro, some p-bass (one mono, one azul, one orino) then after I move the blackl and p-bass to the 375, Im going to use the 180 as a growout for two silvers.
