They are pretty hardy but can get a little aggressive so make sure he's with fish his own size and temperament and you shouldnt have problems with tank mates with him or he could be a solo fish totally up to you

go for it 25 sounds like a good deal and they're not hard to take care of like matt said they're pretty hardy

+1 on this as I should have added it in to my post they are a large Cichlid and he should be in a minimum of 125 gallons in my opinion if your going to have tank mates with him if your making him a wet pet and he is going to be solo in his own tank you can probably get away with putting him in a 75 gallon
