I just got my 120 gallon tank...

... but am still on the wall as to what will go in it! X3

One fish for sure is my 10 inch or so pleco, he's leaving the 55. All other residents are still up for consideration! I *thought* I knew what I wanted, but that's when I thought a 180 would be able to fit into the doorway. XD

I originally wanted all cichlids, but now I'm thinking this setup might be neat:

1 x Common Pleco
2 x Convict Cichlid
1 x Oscar
6 x Silver Dollar

But, now I'm thinking I might also want some kinda catfish... I don't know what would be neat and wouldn't outgrow my tank, though! Some sort of non-suckermouth variety would be nice~

I'm open to ~any suggestions~ though!

As for equipment, I still need a heater and a filter. (Tank came with an UG filter, idk if I want to actually use it.) What would be good for this type of setup? I've bought so many duds when it comes to filters and heaters and since canister filters are much more pricey than the HOB types I've been buying I wanna know it'll last.

I would scrap the idea for putting in 2 cons, especially if there a pair as that would wreak havoc on the inhabitants. As for filtration you can't go wrong with eheim, I got the eheim 2217 classic canister running on my 95 and it is by far the best filter I've bought. Aquaclears are great as well as fluvals.

Can't give you much info on heaters since I don't use heaters. Agreed with buying your fx5 off eBay. It's alot cheaper and I'm sure you can find someone reputable.

for a neat catfish that wont outgrow your tank, you can try a small school of pictus
unless you already have a large oscar...

Was actually planning on a pictus for the 55, now that there's some space in there. I've wanted one for a while, they seem like they'd be fun to watch~

I found this on amazon, and with free shipping, too:

I am mostly worried about overstocking my tank/compatibility issues. D'ya see any potential problems with this setup?

1 x Oscar
1 x Convict
1 x Uaru (or tilapia? or firemouth?)
1 x Rapheal Cat
1 x Common Pleco
5 x Silver Dollar

You already have a large catfish--the pleco! ;)

I seem to really favor catfish, wouldn't mind having another! Kinda want one with a big ol' mouth, but it seems most of them get huge. Tiger shovelnose cats, red-tail cats, and the like just get waaay too big.
