Tank is still intact after 6 months but I decided to move the stock to my spare tank with background because of the algae. Even the silicone and glass are still holding strong. Here's some pics:

did you seal the spare tank with drylok too or did you use something else?
 
Yes, I sealed it with drylok too. Then just added the background.
 
You now know that you can build a tank.
