Sorry for the grainy pics...... bad lighting.

Anyhoo.... here are a few pics of my 120 gallon RES home. I'm still contemplating the idea of "2nd Floor" basking area though? Anyone here have two tiered turtle set ups?

I built the dock out of an old oak plank I drug up out of a lake. It was the perfect find for making the basking dock. Still playing with it, but the turtles really have lots of swimming room in this tank.

Filtration is a Fluval 405. I've also got a Rena Filstar 3 that once I get around to ordering the the needed parts, I'll hook it up to the tank too for that added extra filtration.

That is a nice setup. Not too often you find people doing that kinda stuff for turtles. Most people keep thier turtles in a ten or something. Especially RES. Looks good.

Nice set up you got there. I have 2 RES and 1 EP in a 20 tall. The RES are about the size of a silver dollar and the EP is a little bigger than a quarter. I plan on putting them in at least a 120 when I get moved into a house. With your tank being so close to a window, does it get a lot of alge? Mine gets more than it's share and it is no where near a window.

i made this for my female RES about 8 years old. she's in a pond now and the 125 i had her in houses pbass and a jag.

your tank is better for a turtle. looks like it has a bigger foot print. turtles need space to swim rather than the height.

i highly recommend taking advantage of the extra space, esp for two turtles. increase the water height and you can never over filter a turtle tank. shedded skin, huge turds, etc.

anyways, pm me if you have any more questions. i've got a turtle forum that i goto frequently and im always free to pass on any info.

overall good setup and your turtles look beautiful.

pardon the water color, i had cork bark in there (very good) but it became waterlogged and i had to toss it. the tile worked great (held heat really well) but i had to eventually remove the step tiles. loss traction but at least my turtle's underside wasn't getting scraped. also, the box is made from an old shelf.

one more thing: might want to get rid of the gravel. some turtles will eat gravel and this will cause impaction. bare bottom is safest way to go but it does lack the aesthetic appeal. i chose safe and had an ugly tank. probably why i enjoy pimping out my 125 now that there's fish in it.
