120 gallon + 2 Oscars = what filtration?

my friend just picked up a 120 gallon, he wants to put 2 oscars in it. question is what filtration should he run?

i suggested he run one fx5... do you think that's enough for the life of the fish?

i think he likes the canister idea better then the sump.

Oscars are really messy eaters...If he runs one fx5 he should also run a few powerheads with a sponge...or if he wants to be really safe just go with 2fx5

One Fx5 will be fine. Just have to keep up on water changes to keep nitrates low. An Fx5 is more than sufficient as far as bio media goes, so adding a sponge is not necessary. Water clarity and water quality are different things.
