Hey all. Awaiting the arrival of my Juwel Vision 450. I've got an external canister filter (eheim 2217) as well as the internal filter.

I'm struggling to figure out what to get for the tank - I know i want a group of 4-5 larger cichlids or a breeding pair. any suggestions of what could work in this tank long term?

My display tank is a 120 long. It's currently stocked with a Red Texas Cichlid, 4x Firemouths, 1x juvenile Flowerhorn
12x Buenos Aires Tetras, 11x Red Eye Tetras, 2x Bristlenose
Plecos. I'm thinking about switching out the Firemouths with two Salvini cichlids and might add a few juv. Red Tail
Tiger Botias. Everything works pretty well.
Be sure to install a well planned hardscape, and post pics when everything is up and running.

Maybe 2 jaguar Cichlids?

Would be a great size tank to do a group of thoricthys or cryptoheros. You could do 1-2 males and 4-5 females, something like that. Or all-males could work as well (sometimes breeding pairs throw these setups out-of-whack).

The breeding pair would work, pretty much any cichlid that gets to 12" max would be fine for this size tank. Parachromis Loisellei would be a good choice, as would A. Lyonsi, N. tetracanthus, the list goes on. I would just avoid tank-busters like haitensis, managuense, dovii, etc.

I am guessing it is a 5-6 footer

But that is just a guess

Get a group of 6 of your favourite vieja until a pair forms then sell the rest.
Do 6 t-bar cichlids, a fancy smaller pleco and a pimlodus blochii.
Add plenty of caves.
Done.
