I have a 120 gallon tank with 1 male Dempsey 5 inches, 1 Firemouth 3 inches, 1 male severum 6 inches, 1 male convict 4 inches, and 3 clown loaches 3.5 inches. My question is I know I am pretty well stocked right now and I do 85% water changes every week and the tank is very filtered. I want to add a small male Midas to this tank, do you guys think I would have to take any fish out (prob because it would be overstocked), or could I fit him in the tank as is. My second question is out of all the fish in the tank my convict is the most bullied out of them all and would be my first choice to move if I have to move any fish. My second choice would be to move the severum back into my 180 gallon tank. What do you guys think. (Ideally i want to leave all fish in the tank). Thanks

I know your not gonna want to hear this, but midas going in with several cichlids in a med size tank could be big trouble .. You won't be overstocked bio wise but that could be trouble in a few months for you present stock

Depends on the temperament of the individual midas, I've seen them tolerate smaller fish but kill them also.

Thanks for the replys, prob not a good idea. Would the Midas, firemouth, and clowns work. Or still not a good idea, I know the kinda need a tank by themselves.

It's a risk, the firemouth would need a lot of hiding places even then of the Midas decides it wants to kill it or the clowns.
