How many could I keep in that tank and could any other Africans go with them?Stay away from fronts in that size tank, I can tell you right now my 14+" alpha male would be miserable in a tank that size. Tropheus on the other hand would make an outstanding display in that tank! A nice shoal of red rainbows or illangi would be beautifulyou could add a few syn. Multis or petricola in there to complete the display.
Personally, I would put a single colony 20-25 Tropheus in a 4x2 120. I have kept single colonies successfully in a 4ft 75. It gets a lot more complicated when you want to keep multiple groups together. Why would 20-30 tropheus not work in a four foot tank
It depends on the dimensions of that tank but probably not.Could I have more tropheus in a five foot 80 gallon tank
I already have the 80 gallon, its 5'x15" x21" h, I just thought the extra length makes up for the less water volume, if I were to mix colonies what issues would it causePersonally, I would put a single colony 20-25 Tropheus in a 4x2 120. A colony of Tropheus is a fantastic active display. They are one of the few African cichlids I miss having.
