So I was thinking about it the other day and I was wondering which y'all would prefer for SA/CA cichlids and why?

Reminder:
120=4'x2'x2'
"125"(confused did the math and it's more like 135...)=6'x1.5'x2'

A little expansion, I like a 125 because it displays the fish better. However I was thinking that they'd enjoy a 120 more for the front to back space, but then it dawned on me; the foot print of a 125 is actually larger (9 sq ft as opposed to the 8 of a 120).

Anyways, that's really what got me going. Sq footage vs front to back space.

125 for all that's been mentioned and more water volume, understood only talking 5g, but hey, more the better no mater how small.

I think you are little bit off with standard dimensions: 120 - 48″ x 24″ x 24″ and 125 - 72″ x 18″ x 21″

Not only 125 has more footprint and territory for fish, it's easier to work with. 120 is tall and wide, making it harder to reach the far bottom. In term of showing fish, it depends on what fish you keep and where the tank is located. 120 is better for showing tall fish like angels and discuss, and if the viewpoint of the tank from both front and end.

Same as above, and for all the same reasons. 125
