What is the point of all the L with numbers after it stuff, is it just for ID? Or does it have other meanings? And how much do bristlenoses usually cost?

Not cheap like The average plecostomus you see in the store. Is there any particular reason you want a bristlenose?

Depends on the species. The common Ancistrus are a dime a dozen, some of the others get a bit more pricey, but in general they tend to be quite cheap as most are commonly bred in aquaria.
