I need to build a 120g stand do you all think wood is okay to use? it is going to be 3' tall. Should i use something other than wood? I have always made my own stands and and my design is almost identical to the design thread posted on here! Do you think it is feasible or should i go for something other than wood?

i just built my stand for my 300+ gal tank out of wood. no problem. i used 4x4`s for the frame, 2x2 will be well strong enough for a 120.

They build houses out of wood dont they? :) I would rather have wood - the metal rusts up and looks like crap after a few years.

thanks, just wanted to make sure for my own peace of mind, but i figured wood would be okay.

how could you say that:swear:... you just have to maintain it:thumbsup:

all wood will do the job no problem. Just use 4x4s for the corner posts an 2x4s for the Length an Width. an sheet it with 1/2" to 3/4" plywood.
