hey guys, im gonna be getting a 125/150 for my africans soon, within the next month or two. Right now on my 46 i have a fluval 405 and a Pengiun 350b (50 gal) filter. Id prefer to leave them on that tank and start over with filtration for the new tank. What would be the best ideal for filtration besides a sump, as im not too interested in drilling/plumbing/etc etc.

i was running 2 xp3's and an eheim 2028 on my 125 african tank.......oh and 2 extra sponges in each xp3 kept my water nice.............oh and btw i am selling both my xp3's ($130 for both) as i just sold all my africans.......and yes all my fronts yesterday!!!:( .............but i am now the proud dad of a jayapura gtp (red phase):)

pm me if interested in the xp3s:) ......2 250 watt stealths as well....($30 for both)

I love my eheim 2028. Silent and runs a LOOOOONG time before it needs any maintenance. Well worth the money IMO.

yeah i'm keeping that one to supplement my sev tank when i decide to upgrade......just because it cost so much....and for bio reasons...but for the money you cant beat the xp3's...........they are really 1/3rd the price of the eheims and are more powerfull....i think:)

p.s. i love the eheim when it works but so far i have been through 2 double tap connectors..........my second head unit (top) is en route...........and 3 mini floods later.........it has been ticking me off..........my xp'3s on the other hand.........no probs what so ever!!!!!!!!!!:D

The Fluval FX5 high performance canister filter pumps out 925 GPH and are suitable for aquariums up to 400 gallons.

925 gallons per hour, a 150 will turn over 6 times in one hour. I'd say you have 3 times enough.
