what dimension of wood should i use for the legs and how many legs? i want to model after ultimatejay's monster stand for monster tank seeing as i have some 4x4s i bought for my initial plans. would this be overkill to have 4 4x4 legs?

thanks,
vil

make sure to skin it with plywood for lateral support.

2x4's!!! POPLAR 96" 2x4's are like $1.75 at HomeDepot they hold very well for a 125... People on this site underestimate the strength of thick wood, 2x4's are way strong for 125...

I made a stand out of 2x4s for my 300 :grinyes:
the stand for my 265 id 2x4s as well:)

i made my 125 stand with the directions on www.garf.org Worked out great. the only thing i would change is that i made it 30" tall so i need a step ladder to reach the bottom. Looks nice but makes maintenance a pain.

the 4x4's im using as a temporary on cinder block will do.

i have enough for three pairs of legs along w/ 3 4x4 top braces.

any advice on making my cuts level so that the ends are all touching smoothly? other than working on a flat surface of course. i will also be using those 90degree metal thing dodads like ultimatejay did.
