In the process of cycling this tank for an Oscar and a decent school of silver dollars

I have an fx4 output in the middle, and ac 110 on the right, maybe 1000 gph combined if I am lucky

I was thinking of adding a powerhead on the missing side so that doesn’t become a dead spot, do you think that or maybe a filter is better?

If so how strong? I’m used to shorter tanks so I am not sure if a 6 feet needs better flow distribution

aquatop on amazon is cheap -

can put a sponge over intake -

it’s all what you like....

Very nice tank!
You have many options. The powerhead should work. However, if it were myself, I would add another filter instead.

In my 125g (pic attached for reference I have an FX6 + AC 110 (left) + Penguin 350 (right).
The FX6 has a a spray bar (Flow Tamer) that occupies the central ~3.5 feet, the other filters on either side. The purpose of the spay bar is not to "tame the flow", but to distribute it better; the holes point forward, slightly slanted down. This set up has worked well for ~1.5 years.
Oscars eat a lot and produce massive amounts of poop. A 'decent school of silver dollars' will need a lot of food and produce a decent amount of waste as well.

Good luck!
