hey i am thinking about putting in a 125-200 gallon in wall tank. one side will be flush like a picture frame the other will have a built in stand , so looking at it you will be able to see into the other room any ideas on lighting and filtration and should i buy the tank or make it ?

Well if your going to be able to see front to back, and have no hiding places, I would suggest a canister, maybe FX5.

I am normally a sump guy, but IMHO sumps under the stand are hard to work with, and can cause mold to grow under the stand from the humidity; if the sump is uncovered.

Lighting is pretty much up to you, I use cheap shop lights, you can always build them into a canopy.

I always liked tanks you can see front to back, but I am terrified of bottom drilled tanks.

Well others will debate me on this one, but I would say a single fx5 with good media maybe 3 litters of Seachem Biomatrix ($30.00) would do the trick.

You might want an extra power head to give you more circulation, but the FX5 will give you more then enough bio for that tank, unless you over stock it. I have no idea what your putting in the tank, so you might need more, but I doubt it.

alright cool thanks now on the lighting what type of light should it be prob not gunna be a saltwater tank and on the tank it self buy it or make it
