Hey! im Kolton, im 14 and have been keeping/learning about fish for around 2 years. for Christmas I am getting a 125 gallon tank, and I want an active predator for it. Ive had some ideas but still need to figure it out. I was thinking......

Fahaka puffer
Frontosa(s)
A royal peacock bass( until it outgrows my tank )
maybe a teacup stingray
or a active predatory catfish

It will also home a albino senegal bichir!

Thanks!

No peacock bass, the hassle of rehoming it is to much, no stingray, and many would say no Fahaka.
Active predatory catfish. Those words don’t typically go together so good luck finding one.
I can’t speak on the frontosa though.

Do you want it to be a species tank? Community? Tropical? Cold? What’s the parameters of your tap water? Do you care for doing large water change often or do you prefer small water changes and less often?
Any idea on what type of fish you’d like best? Catfish, cichlids, pikes, eels, etc...

large water changes are fine with me, Preferably a predator tank but I need to find one that can live in there for life

A Fahaka would be cool but has to be kept solo. A 120 would be better than a 125 though because a standard 125 isn’t gonna be wide enough. A 120 is usually 48x24x24 . Fahakas grow really fast as well. Mine is 14” and I got him about 2 years ago at 1/2 inch

Actually I would recommend no lower than a 180 they Produce extreme amounts of waste and some specimens in captivity have gotten up to 20 inches which would be almost half the length of that tank
