I picked up a 125 gallon glass aquarium, and I found the wood trim to be in bad shape. I cannot find a straight answer if the trim is required or if the wood trim can be removed and allow the aquarium to sit on dense foam. I do have the means to replace all of the wood trim if required.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Idk if its necessary at the bottom, but I rather have it and don't need it than to find out too late that the tank needed it.

remove it all, i would put it on foam myself. a small piece for the bottom plate then a larger piece for the whole tank.
