I've ordered a 125 gallon tank that I'll have mid-may. As far as stocking goes as of right now I have a 12" silver arowana, ad a 4" barred midas(which I expect is female). I was thinking of placing an order from Jeff Rapps and purchasing a large amount of juveniles to grow out, to reduce shipping cost mainly. I was thinking about some trimacs, jags.. and whatever else he will have available at the time. I will be growing out some escondidos in my 29 gallon and keeping a breeding pair as well as a male in the 125 gallon. As of right now I'm not sure what I'll be doing with the arowana, I talked the owner of an lfs down to $20, the fish was in a split 10 gallon tank and couldn't do much in the way of movement. I figured if I grew it out to 2' or so I could make a profit on it selling it to a fellow hobbyist. Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

What are the dimensions of the tank you ordered? A silver aro will need more room than a standard 125 provides.

It's a standard 125 and I understand that in reality they need more room than that, but I can guarantee you this fish will have a better life in my 125 than it would have at the lfs or a 55 gallon tank that the owner said could house it for life.

well jags 125 is a minimum for females! and the aggresion levels may be a lil too much for anything else! so i would personally recommend not adding a jag! midas, jacks, trimacs! i like servums! try breeding servums in there along with having some other cichlids!

I'm not the biggest fan of severums. I was going to attempt to try and overstock the tank in terms of aggression. Any other ideas are appreciated.
